Youth Boys

Mountain View

“…As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate”.

Psalm 127:4-5

The Bible talks about the works of men like Joseph and Daniel in the days of their youth. Joseph displayed extraordinary temperance and Daniel showed enormous faith. The youth of our church exhibit great zeal for our Lord as well. Nevertheless, late teens and early twenties are filled with slips, trips and falls. By the grace of our Lord, there had been zealous men and women of God who led and streamlined the youngsters in our church. The youth fellowship of our church took shape during the period of Rev. raja singh . Thence forth, it has been functioning as one of the important organs of the church. Our clergies and elders have constantly encouraged the youth by regularly conducting youth meetings and organising special events with guest speakers.

Youth Today

Today, the youth meeting is conducted by Prof.raja Singh l for boys and Mrs. Evangeline for girls. Youth meeting takes place after the Church service every Sunday. The meeting starts with a prayer followed by songs of praise, word of God, individual counselling, testimonies, supplications and closing prayer. Daily devotion book published by Thoothukudi-Nazareth Diocese is issued to all men of our youth . It contains a chosen verse for the day and a thought on it described with examples, parables and references. There is also a Bible reading plan which gives the portion to be read everyday from New Testament and Old Testament so that the reader completes reading the entire Bible in a year. Prizes are distributed to youngsters who put up an extraordinary performance in their Secondary and Higher secondary school to encourage them as the word of God says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men”(Proverbs 22:29).

Youth Camp

Due to the effort of the church elders, Our church youth have participated in the camps organised by Evangelical Union and similar other organisations. These camps are spiritual boosters for our young men and women. Word of God is fed to the juveniles by anointed men of God. Group activities are organised to build team spirit and Leadership. Tolerance and service mentality are inculcated in the hearts of the youngsters. Group discussions and personal counselling by exemplary seniors provide a sense of belongingness and security to the youngsters. Various methods to meditate the Word of God are taught. The testimonies during campfire on the closing day are evidences that these camps play an important role in the spiritual life of the youth. After returning from these camps, prayer cells and other activities were started by the youth themselves out of ardour for our Lord.

Our church youth have actively participated and displayed their talents which our good Lord has given them on various occasions by singing, dancing and acting in skits and dramas. Our young men have participated in many Youth Festival organised by various Christian ministries and they exhibited their talent to the glory of God. Our youth also joyously take part in village ministry by distributing tracts and Christian literature, by sharing personal testimonies and praying. Members of our youth fellowship attend Bible exams conducted by the church and win prizes. “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper”. (Psalm1:3). Our faithful Lord has kept his promise. Men and Women who were once youth in our church have prospered indeed as sung by the Psalmist.

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions”
