Women's Felloship

Mountain View

“…I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD”.

1Samuel 1:26

Women's Fellowship

Women have been playing a significant role in our church from the very beginning. “Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast in like manner… (Esther 4:16)”. All of us are aware of the victory brought about by the prayer and fasting of Esther. The plot to slaughter the Jews was overturned. By the abundant grace of our Lord we do have Esthers in our church. The very first prayer cell in Chidambaranagar was started by the women of worth living there. It can be said that the church we are worshipping in today itself is a result of the relentless prayer of the women’s fellowship. The trend has continued. Women’s fellowship forms a very important integral part of the church today, supporting the church with their prayers, wisdom and valuable time.

Activities

The members gather and pray to the Lord every Saturday at the church or at any other place suitable for worship. During the fasting prayer conducted on first Monday of every month ,supplications is made for the country, ministries, sick and for the special prayer request. Special events are performed by our women of worth including the sermon on ‘WOMEN’S SUNDAY’ which is observed on the month of march. In the month of april jubilant walk is undertaken by women of worth in uniform exalting our Lord on the day of ‘THE PROMISE OF SALVATION”. ‘WOMEN’S THANKS GIVING FESTIVAL’ is celebrated on the first week of December. Joyous tours for women are organised to various places.

Good works

The members of the women’s fellowship have paid regular visits to mission sites and service institutes. Contribution have been made by the members to help the less privileged like the mentally challenged, blind, old aged and people afflicted by leprosy.

“…this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did”.
